Quite possibly the cutest bride ever...loved this cheerful Ivy Robinson wedding in an uptown loft. And a big thanks to Susan Dean and Hayley Juliet for helping me out on this one.

I have photographed two weddings for this lovely family, both in the same year! You'd never find two more beautiful sisters, inside and out. How special it was to get to know them. Angie is such a kind and beautiful soul...you can just see it in her smile...Ivy Robinson created this elegant "backyard" affair...she's so good.

This was such a fun wedding - a truly kind couple - and really talented vendors made it just the most wonderful day. A big thanks to Jill LaFleur for introducing me to Jeff & Audrey Dunham - we loved working with you guys! Lots of pretty flowers from Kate and I loved all the table lovelies from Case de Perrin. Ceci outdid herself with the custom painted invite. I could photograph this sort of effortless look all day long. Thatch shot this wedding with me and, well, I love having him around too :)

A few photographs from this feminine Annadel Estate Winery wedding...Perfectly planned by Sugar Rush Events.

This charming French inspired wedding coming to the blog soon...
This is the best time of year! So many engagements - Thatcher and I were engaged over the holidays a couple of years ago and I remember what a blissful time it is. There's so much joy in planning your own wedding, meeting all of these wonderful new creative people, and I think the whole process brings such a sense of inspiration. And wait until you get to the day - It's pure magic, honestly.
So, thanks for stopping by to peek through my work as you start your wedding planning - I'm excited to chat with many of you about your event. You'll find my latest work here on our blog, and then a range of destination portfolios from past weddings on my website www.corbingurkin.com in the Destinations gallery. Happy Planning!

Thatcher and I are a bit off the grid right now - traveling around Thailand for a wedding and some post wedding-season vacation time - but I wanted to blog this charming rehearsal dinner at The Villa at Sunstone Winery before we're well into our trip! The florals were by my friend Kate of Flowerwild (and the florist for my own wedding so I especially love her :) - and wonderful planning by Jill LaFleur who is such a pleasure to work with - we adore her weddings and her style. Audrey and Jeff could not have been a more delightful couple and we loved the relaxed intimate feel of this whole event.

In some ways on my own wedding day, I felt like I floated through to a steady white noise - there were moments that seemed to be rapidly moving in front of me, but then moments where it felt silent and other-worldly if that makes sense. Tis the great difference in experiencing the wedding as a bride rather than a photographer. As a photographer I'm aware of every visual element - my eyes dart from spot to spot in a frame - sometimes it feels gentle and calm, sometimes the light feels graceful and soft, sometimes it's quiet and sometimes you're trying to capture a bit of the chaos. We had six children in our wedding party...I photographed an event recently with lots of kiddos too and I was charmed by a bit of that chaos...

Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday! To the couples stopping by who are recently engaged, my heartfelt best wishes to you at the start of your wedding planning. This is such an exciting time and what an amazing journey the next several months will be! We look forward to hearing from you and talking to you about your wedding plans. To the friends and colleagues who are just stopping by to take a peek at recent work, thank you so much for your continued support. I am so grateful for you and always humbled by your kind enthusiasm for my photography!
xoxo Corbin
We are truly grateful to have crossed paths with so many amazing people this year...from new clients to incredibly talented vendors, bloggers, and photography lovers. Thank you for your continued support and friendship.
There are so many exciting things in store for 2011. First, I'm excited to say, that I will be entering the new year on the other side of the wedding planning process - Thatcher proposed on the winter solstice and we are thrilled to be engaged! Feel free to chime in with location suggestions! We are planning for a destination wedding in 2012...
We have some amazing destination weddings coming up this year - Copenhagen, Tuscany, Hawaii to name a few. Stay tuned for some lovely new couples.
Wishing you and yours a very happy and prosperous 2011!

Liz & Ricky's wedding has stuck with me for your years now as one of my all time favorites- she's a dear friend and this was a wedding where the bride gave me such creative license to just create the sort of images that fit completely with my personal style. I thought I'd start posting a few shots from time to time "from the archive".
