To Italy, With Love
The hopeless romantic in me went to see Letters to Juliet on Sunday and it was so nice to reminisce about my time in Italy. Many people ask me how I started photographing so many destination weddings and actually, it all began in Tuscany. I studied in Florence during college and then continued to return there each summer. I wanted to find a way to combine my love for the Italian language with my career path in photography: enter weddings in Tuscany at beautiful historic vilas. I photographed three weddings my first summer, ten the following year, and then thirty the next! - anywhere from Lake Como to Capri.
Now, I luckily get back to Italy a couple of times each year and have been fortunate to add many other amazing destinations to my repertoire. I'm a born traveler, and while home these days is somewhere divided between Charleston, Santa Barbara, and New England, I'll always have a place in my heart for those summers in Italy that in my head feel almost cinematic.
