You must know by now that I'm a big fan of Jillian and the girls over at 100 Layer Cake.  Step on over there today for a look at Courtney & Hunter's wedding!

I am so excited to share that Courtney & Hunter's destination wedding at Lanikuhonua in Oahu, Hawaii from this past January is arriving on newsstands this weekend in the summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings.  There are so many fantastic venues in Hawaii and Thatcher and I had the pleasure of exploring the island with Courtney & Hunter for several days after the wedding - taking portraits, eating great fresh fish, going on a whale watch (my favorite!).  These two were such a fantastic couple - sharing their favorite spots, making us feel perfectly welcome, and humoring their newly (the week before!) engaged photographer who was ridiculously giddy the entire trip.  Not even half way through the year and I can think back to our recent brides who have become such great friends!  I just love that.

Courtney actually contacted me a while before she had even set a date and I was immediately intrigued by her ideas for a vintage style wedding in an elegant garden setting - in Hawaii no less.  I loved the idea of a destination wedding that wasn't necessarily focused on the tropical or oceanic elements, but used that gorgeous spot as a backdrop.  I could tell she had style and I immediately connected with her aesthetic.  After a meeting in Malibu, I knew that it really was a great client/photographer match.

Many of you know the fantastic wedding site 100LayerCake and I am so thrilled to share that Corbin Gurkin Photography has just been announced as the newest  A-List photographer.  We're SO delighted and humbled to be amongst this amazing group of talent!  

THIS seriously awesome wedding will be showing up on the newsstands in a couple of weeks in the summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings and I'm sort of dying to share the photos with you guys, but can't just yet :(.  I'll be in Puerto Rico when the magazine comes out, but maybe someone will take an iphone photo of the article for me??  Pretty please...mom??

Well, I have to say I've sort of missed the boat a bit on announcing this wedding that was in last month's issue of Brides now that we're already into May (how did that happen?? - maybe it was the 5 locations in 2 weeks that did it to me).  For any of you that hold onto wedding magazines the way I do, you should check out the adorable article.  There are 6 glorious pages of fun wedding inspiration from this down-to-earth, creative couple.  I especially loved Meghan's handmade invitations.  It was such a treat to open them with all of these little goodies and paper surprises inside.  Here's a little preview for you:
